Day One: Explore + Carve
We will start our journey with a morning walk immersed in the beauty of the Grampians. Together, we’ll gather reference materials that capture the essence of the landscape, breaking the ice and sparking your creative flow.
The morning continues with a hands-on introduction to block preparation. You’ll have time to experiment and build confidence by carving a sampler block before planning and transferring your final design to your lino block. By the afternoon, you’ll be carving your masterpiece and printing a test run to see your ideas take shape.
Day Two: Print + Paint
Dive back into your project with fresh energy! We’ll refine your carving and create a small edition of prints. Then, the magic truly begins as we explore the fundamentals of watercolour painting, adding depth and vibrancy to your prints.
The day concludes with mounting and sleeving your hand-coloured creations, ready to be admired in our end-of-workshop exhibition showcasing the group’s collection of locale-inspired prints. You’ll leave with a stunning hand-coloured print that reflects the beauty of the Grampians, ready to take pride of place in your home.
This workshop is about more than creating art—it’s about slowing down, connecting with nature, and embracing the joy of making something with your hands. Whether you’re an experienced printmaker or artist or just want to try something new, this weekend promises inspiration, learning, and a little nature-inspired adventure.
Let’s make art together in the heart of the Grampians!
