Print Exchange 2025: Ron Leland

I’m a designer with a background in architecture, and brand identity—but printmaking is where those passions intersect. My process is tactile and intentional. I work by hand, using vintage wood type and custom-built wooden furniture to lock up my type. I hand-print each piece, embracing the intimacy and unpredictability of the process. Typography has long been at the heart of my professional life—as a branding director, I’ve spent decades helping others express their voice through type. Printmaking brings that same spirit into the physical realm. Every print is a small act of craftsmanship, collaboration, and love for the letterform.
