Print Exchange 2023: Rebecca Hofman

Rebecca Hofman lives in the Pocono Mountains with her husband. A lifelong artist and self-described “dabbler”, she enjoys experimenting with different mediums. Currently, her work focuses on collage, zines, and hand embroidery. Ich Liebe Dich is inspired by her Pennsylvania (PA) Dutch heritage. In PA Dutch folk art, the intertwining birds (or distlefinks) symbolize true friendship, love, and marriage. The title of this piece, Ich Liebe Dich, means “I love you” in PA Dutch (which is similar to German). She named this piece in honor of her grandpa, who taught this PA Dutch phrase (and many others) to his grandkids.
