Print Exchange 2023: Rebecca Hofman

Rebecca Hofman lives in the Pocono Mountains with her husband. A lifelong artist and self-described “dabbler”, she enjoys experimenting with different mediums. Currently, her work focuses on collage, zines, and hand embroidery. Trinity Tulips is inspired by her Pennsylvania (PA) Dutch heritage. In the 1800s, PA Dutch farmers painted circular designs on their barns, known as hex signs. While traditional designs typically featured stars, contemporary hex signs feature many other natural symbols. The trinity of tulips symbolize faith in self, faith in what you do, and faith in fellow man. The scalloped border represents waves of the ocean, symbolizing smooth sailing through life.
