Print Exchange 2026: Gabrielle Hamilton

As a new printmaker, I am drawn to the bold contrast and texture of relief printing. My work focuses on everyday subjects from my photos, including flowers, nature and buildings. I find it challenging to simplify the image and create positive and negative space that leaves a discernible image when cut. I hand pull my prints using a bamboo barren, which leaves unique variations in every impression. This medium is about celebrating the handmade mark, imperfections included! As I explore further, I hope to perfect finer details and more coloured layers in my reduction linocut. I enjoy many creative hobbies including jewellery making, design, photography, mosaics, and quilt making.
