Biography

My printmaking practice is a continuous journey of technical challenge and personal connection. Based in New Zealand, I typically look to the outdoors for inspiration, translating the landscapes found on morning walks and family travels into relief prints. Working primarily with lino and woodcut, I utilise multi-block and reduction techniques to push my boundaries as an artist who is actively finding her feet and evolving her visual language. For this exchange, I have turned my gaze from the horizon to the home to explore a more intimate narrative. This piece features Mika, our cat, and centres on the interplay of character and colour, specifically a bright gold fish. This print is a study in playfulness. It is a departure from my scenic work designed to be memorable, bringing a distinct sense of warmth and domestic whimsy into the viewer’s collection.
