This piece captures a moment of pure, uncomplicated joy: my dog Boston trotting along the beach, tail wagging, sand between his paws, proudly carrying a tree branch that he found. It’s a celebration of the small things that make life “sweet as” – salty air, wide-open space, and the loyalty of a happy companion. Using bold, simple lines, I want the linocut to capture this simple moment of canine delight at the beach.
