Print Exchange 2024: Karen Fletcher

I am a printmaker making linocut prints inspired by the abundant flora and fauna of the Top End of Australia. I came to the Northern Territory in 2012 to work in a remote Indigenous homeland, where I grew in my depth of knowledge and connection to the creation through doing life with Indigenous families. I incorporate Yolŋu Matha language names into my prints as a nod to this love and connection.

My printmaking is a process of love that begins with hand-carving the design before printing it onto beautiful papers and fabrics. I hope that my prints bring much joy to others as they find their new homes.
