Print Exchange 2024: Christy Powell

Christy is an Australian designer and illustrator with a passion for linocut printmaking. The South African born achieved her Bachelor of Arts degree from the Florida State University, while on a swimming scholarship in the United States of America. She since felt drawn to travel and live in many countries around the world freelancing her graphic design and working as a sketch tutor. Finally getting settled and calling Australia home, Christy found her passion in linocut printmaking. She loves creating pieces that tell a story and include whimsy and imaginative concepts, along with being influenced by nature and creating pieces that support ecological conservation and charities. She’s now working from her studio in Melbourne.
