Print Exchange 2023: Shanna Compton

Shanna Compton (Hi Water Press) is a printmaker and poet in Blue Hill, Maine, US. She primarily works in linocut, collage, monotype, screen print, and mixed media illustration, and is currently studying woodblock printmaking at Haystack Mountain School of Crafts.

As a book designer and illustrator, she has collaborated with more than a dozen independent publishers, and as Bloof Books she publishes an ongoing series of handmade chapbooks by contemporary poets. She is the author of five books of poems, most recently Creature Sounds Fade and Midwinter Constellation (co-written with 31 other women and nonbinary poets), both from Black Lawrence Press.
