Biography

I composed this image as I would have composed a bouquet (I’m also a florist), by placing elements in relation to each other, like a collage. I draw directly with drypoint on a plexiglass plate. The fly and the flowers are not there for their symbolism. I find it interesting to look at all living things, even those that seem the most banal or vulgar… and not to discredit them according to scales of values but to consider them as a set of forms and in all their otherness of beings living. The flowers are beautiful, but the fly has its beauty too. I like to give an atmosphere to the images I make, and that’s why I chose this specific blue for this image which represents a scene suspended in time.
