Biography

There is a wonder in the everyday; small joys that can only be found if you slow down, observe and appreciate life in all its forms. This print is inspired by my garden in regional Victoria. A silvereye seizing the opportunity to eat a pomegranate, which the rosellas had previously ripped open. This tiny, native bird looks as though it could easily fall into the pomegranate, but it grips the branches tightly, enjoying its meal. Our society encourages constant motion. Being sedentary is seen as unproductive. We forget to look down at the ants and up at the birds.

This artwork is to remind us to pause, contemplate what we are missing and see the beauty of the world of which we are a part.
