So, you have wanted to try your hand at printmaking but didn’t know where to start?
Well, you are in the right place! In this fun, relaxed class, I’ll show you how to create your very own set of hand-printed greeting cards using simple block printing techniques.
I’m Sally, and I teach from my fabulous hills studio in Adelaide, South Australia. After years of working as a graphic designer, I rekindled my love for printmaking after a long stint on the computer, and now I can’t wait to share the magic of it with you.
Block printing is such a joyful art form. With its bold, graphic, perfectly imperfect, and wonderfully tactile. It’s the kind of craft that invites you to slow down, make a bit of a mess, and create something truly unique.
This class is designed especially for beginners; no experience (or fancy art gear) is needed. If you’ve never carved a block before, don’t worry, I’ll guide you through each step with plenty of encouragement and a few laughs along the way. Watch for my dogs doing silly things in the background of my videos.
So, let’s dive in, have some fun, and discover the simple joy of printing by hand!

I am a very passionate and enthusiastic tutor specialising in printmaking, illustration and design. My special power has always been the ability to use my easy-going personality to translate a sometimes difficult process. From clarity comes understanding, and understanding leads to knowledge. Knowledge leads to success!
Whilst my teaching is informal but instructional, my aim is to bring out everyone’s creativity in an encouraging and friendly atmosphere. Having studied design and illustration at art college, I have worked for many years as a graphic artist. I now divide my time between teaching and pursuing my own work, with involvement in exhibitions, studio trails and private commissions.
