Drypoint using cardboard

Participants will draw on a cardboard plate using traditional etching tools to make a variety of marks and textures, then ink up and print their plates on dampened cotton paper with an etching press.

Traditionally etchings are made with metal plates – instead we will use a coated cardboard and no chemicals. This technique is a simple, but effective printmaking process, a perfect introduction to intaglio printmaking.

No experience necessary and all materials provided.
